Identify DeSoto Jane Doe! This unidentified female was found deceased on January 24, 1985.
Reportedly, this woman was found adjacent to Highway 78. She was found in Olive Branch, Mississippi. DeSoto County Jane Doe was a Caucasian female. Her estimated age was 20 to 35 years old. DeSoto County Jane Doe’s estimated height was 5’2″ to 5’4.” Her hair was red or strawberry blonde. This Doe’s eye color is undetermined. She had scars on her left arm and hand. DeSoto County Jane Doe had a tattoo of “T.H.C.” on her right ankle. She had “REJ” and “RET” tattooed on her left ankle.

It was determined that DeSoto County Jane Doe smoked heavily. She bit her fingernails. This Doe had a tubal ligation (“got her tubes tied.”).

Circumstances

It was January 24, 1984, in DeSoto County, Mississippi. At approximately 7:30 A.M., an unidentified Caucasian female was found adjacent to side of Highway 78 in DeSoto County, Mississippi. The victim is described as being between 20 and 35 years old. Her estimated height was 5’2″ to 5’4″ tall. She had red or strawberry blonde hair. DeSoto County Jane Doe had a petite frame. She was wearing a short-sleeved pullover top with Gloria Vanderbilt jeans.

DeSoto County Jane Doe was not wearing panties, socks, or shoes. Nor was she wearing jewelry or a bra. And those items were not found in the area. Examination reveals that she may have been sexually assaulted. Reportedly, the cause of death was established asphyxiation by ligature strangulation. The manner of Olive Branch Jane Doe’s death is ruled as a homicide.
