VENICE, ILLINOIS–On May 4, 2019 at approximately 11:40 P.M., Jaylon T. McKenzie was fatally shot in the 600 block of
Venice, Ilinois. According to press releases, this act of violence occurred at an Illinois party at someone’s residence. Reportedly, the bullet that killed Jaylon was a stay bullet.

According to press releases, the teenage homicide victim was a young middle-school athlete. THose who know him describe him as talented and gifted, displaying a strong work ethic. Reportedly,Jaylon received scholarships from the University of Illinois and the University of Missouri. He desired to follow in the footsteps of NFL Athlete Adoree Jackson. Reportedly, Jaylon comes from a family of athletes. Also, professional athletes and politicians have mourned him.
