OCEANA, WEST VIRGINIA–Missing Virgil “Punky” Paynter is from Oceana, West Virginia. He was last seen by his mother on July 21, 2019. A family member saw him in Hanover, West Virginia on August 12, 2019. According to his mother, Anita Kennedy, Paynter has spent a lot of time walking since his son, Hunter, was killed in a house fire. This incident occurred on New Year’s Eve in 2017.

The missing man’s mother received a message from Virgil on August 6, 2019. It is quite concerning. “The message said Mom, I need your help.” Virgil has a tattoo on his right arm that says “Virgil” and one on his ankle that says “Mom and Dad.”

Virgil Paynter is a Caucasian male. He is 33 years old and is described as 5’10” tall and 165 pounds. His is brown and his eyes are blue. According to the press release, despite the circumstances involved, Paynter’s mother doesn’t think he took his own life nor do police on his case.

This is a mysterious disappearance. Strictly speaking, Virgil Paynter has been missing for one good month. Descriptions tell is that he is the father of a deceased son. Family and police don’t think he has committed suicide, however. Currently, they are going through a nightmare. They already lost a grandson to a house fire. May they get their son back alive! But what was behind his plea for help to his mother on August 6?
