Scott isn’t described as having any known scars, birthmarks, tattoos, or piercings. At his disappearance, Sims was wearing a black winter coat and a black knitted cap. UNderneath his black coat, Scott was wearing a black turtleneck sweater. And he was wearing blue jeans.

Circumstances

Scott Andreas Douglass Sims, 11, (now 66), was last seen in Wichita Falls, Texas. He was last seen on the afternoon of December 9, 1961. Reportedly, he was alone with his older brother at their home. Their home was located in the 4600 block of Stanford. That was when, between 12:45 P.M. and 1:00 P.M., Scott went to play outdoors. After that, Scott vanished, never to be heard from again. At 2:30 P.M., Scott’s mother returned home. She could not find her son. The family searched for him, all to no avail. It was at 8:00 P.M. that they contacted police and reported Scott as missing.

The Rest of the Story

Scott and his family had lived in Wichita Falls for only a sort time before he disappeared. Scott and his brother had lived with their mother and stepfather. And they had taken their stepfather’s last name. In 1961, their biological father lived with his second wife in California. Before he disappeared in 1961, Scott was a fifth-grade student. He was attending Jefferson Elementary School. And he was in the Boy Scouts. It seems that he vanished without a trace. There is practically no evidence providing clues about what happened to him. This is an extremely limited information case for someone missing for decades.

Don’t Give Up On Him

We must not think that because this case is 55 years old, that it still can’t be solved. This is unspeakably sad. This case has lasted for over five and a half decades.
