Police still consider a voluntary disappearance a possibility. But investigators are now investigating other theories as well. This includes the possibility of foul play. Rachael’s case is classified as a non-family abduction due to the lack of available evidence. While there is no evidence that the two cases are connected, it is worth noting that Laureen Rahn may be connected. She is another petite brunette about the same age as Rachael, disappeared from a nearby town just a month after Rachael did and was never found. Laureen’s case remains
unsolved as well and is also classified as a non-family abduction.

Appeal

Rachael Elizabeth Garden has been missing for 39 years. Few results appear in searches for her on the Internet or on Facebook. And her family seem to have no Internet presence. Are some her relatives even alive? How about her parents? So some still believe she can be voluntarily missing after almost 39 years? This is perplexing. But even the coldest of cases are as important, if not as urgent, as the new cases. Police do not keep cases open forever. They are known to close certain missing persons cases even before they are found. Police may conclude that the person isn’t endangered, that the person doesn’t want to be found, or that the case cannot be solved. So cold cases matter because they can be closed any time. Somewhere out there, someone (s) misses Rachael Elizabeth Garden.
