Circumstances

Phyllis Marie Corbin was last seen in St. Louis, Missouri. This incident occurred on November 1, 1963. She was staying at the House of Good Shepherd. This home was a shelter for juveniles. It was located in the 3800 block of Gravois Avenue. She ran away with another girl who lived in the home.

Phyllis and the other girl got a ride to the Greyhound bus station. And they were reportedly heading to New Orleans, Louisiana. The other girl may have returned about three weeks later. However, Phyllis has never been heard from again.

The staff at the home supposedly reported her missing. But Phyllis’s family has not been able to confirm this. There has been no indication of her whereabouts since 1963. Thus her case remains unsolved.

Opinion

Police called Phyllis Marie a runaway at her disappearance. Though she has been missing for at least 55 years, they still call her a runaway. Phyllis truly is on the bad side of unequal missing persons searches! She was “born too soon” for sophisticated investigative tools. I see few nonprofits having taken an interest in her. And she was not even missing from foster care, but from a children’s home. What about the other girl who supposedly “returned home” after a few weeks? She would be a senior citizen now. But would she know anything about Phyllis’s whereabouts?

Did someone approach Phyllis, groom her, and lure her to vanish in order to be in their company? Do you have any information concerning the whereabouts of Phyllis Marie Corbin? Do you have any information concerning the person (s) who may be involved in her disappearance?
