Find missing Mary Ann Ruth Switalski! Mary Switalski has been missing since July 15, 1963. She is missing from Chicago, Illinois. Mary Switalski is a Violent Criminal Apprehension Program (ViCAP) Missing Person. ViCAP is an FBI program that covers persons missing or unidentified in whose cases foul play is suspected. Despite that, some agencies still call Mary an endangered runaway. Mary was born in the year 1946. At the time of her disappearance, Mary was 16 years old. Her current age is 70 years old.

Mary Ann Ruth Switalski is a Caucasian female. She is described as 5’2″ tall and 102 pounds at the time of her disappearance. Her hair is blonde and her eyes are hazel. When last seen, Mary was wearing a black sleeveless blouse, white shorts, and straw sandals.

It was July 15, 1963 in Chicago, Illinois. Mary was last seen at approximately 10:15 P.M. She attended a carnival with friends at St. Priscilla’s Catholic Church that evening. And she was never seen again. Two days after her disappearance, her parents received a latter believed to be from Mary Ann. In that letter, Mary Ann wrote that she was fine and would be sending them money soon. She said that she was “experiencing a strange but educational experience.”

A Letter from Mary Ann?

In this letter, the writer, believed to be Mary Switzalski, refused to tell anyone where she was. The writer did not want anyone to “interfere.” And Mary Ann added that she might never see her parents or friends again. But she promised to call them. The letter was postmarked Oak Park, Illinois. This is a suburb of Chicago. It was where Mary Ann reportedly had often gone shopping with her family. Reportedly, the latter seemed to be written in Mary Ann’s handwriting, but not in her writing style.

Reportedly, Mary Ann never got in touch with her family again. Her parents didn’t know why she allegedly ran away. Her parents were not aware of any “problems” in her life. Mary Ann was a good student who had just completed her junior years at Notre Dame High School. And she had put a deposit down for her senior year book and class ring. She had a job at a neighborhood store and also earned money babysitting. Before her disappearance, Mary Ann lived with her parents and younger sister in the 6200 block of West Cornelia Avenue.

It has been established that Mary Ann Ruth Switalski may have been coerced to join a group. Reportedly, Mary Ann joined an organization that sold magazines door-to-door. It was en route to California at the time. When questioned, the couple who ran the group admitted that they had hired her. But they gave conflicting statements as to what happened after that. The wife claimed that Mary Ann had left the group sometime before. But the husband claimed that she had never left at all. Since 1963, there has been no indication of her whereabouts.

Mary Ann Ruth Switalski has been missing for 54 years. That is over half a century! So why is she, after all this time, being called a runaway? Why not an endangered missing person? She may initially have run away, but why has she spent over half a century out of all contact with family and friends? And it costs money to live undercover. NO, it is likely that Mary Ann has met with foul play. That is why she is a ViCAP missing person; only those in whose cases foul play is suspected are ViCAP missing or unidentified cases. And after all this time, Mary Ann’s family deserve and needs answers. Justice has been delayed far too long.
