Find missing Lisa Michelle Stebic! Lisa Michelle Stebic has been missing since April 30, 2007 from Plainfield, Illinois. Lisa Stebic is classified as an endangered missing person. She has been born in the year 1969. At the time of her disappearance, Lisa was 37 years old. Her current age is 47 to 48 years old. Lisa Michelle Stebic is a Caucasian female. She is described as 5’2″ and 125 pounds. Lisa has the following tattoos. She has a rose on her ankle and a pink heart on her abdomen. Stebic has a butterfly tattooed with the names “Zach” and “Lexi” on the middle of her back. Lisa’s maiden name is Ruttenberg.

It was May 1, 2007 in Plainfield, Illinois. That was the day that Lisa Michelle Stebic missing. She was last seen on April 30 at her home. It was located in the 13200 Block of Red Star Drive in Plainfield, Illinois. At the time of her disappearance, Lisa lived with her two children and Craig Stebic, her husband. He stated that he last saw her at 6:00 P.M. Lisa normally worked out each evening at Plainfield North High School. And he believed that she had gotten a ride there. Stebic reportedly took her purse and cellular phone with her when she went missing. But there was no activity on the phone or on her credit cards since her disappearance. In her garage, Lisa left her vehicle behind. She has never been heard from again.

Craig Stebic reportedly filed for divorce several months before Lisa’s disappearance. But the couple continued to live together. Lisa’s friends stated that she was looking forward to starting a new life without her husband. Craig stated that although they lived in the same house, he and Lisa led separate lives. And he said that they rarely spoke with each other. On the day of disappearance, she mailed her attorney a petition asking for Craig to be ordered out of her residence. She called him “unnecessarily relentless, cruel, inconsiderate, domineering and verbally abusive” and stated that his behaviot was harmful to their children.

Troubled Marriage

The couple reportedly may have also been having financial problems. Their home was mortgaged for more than it was worth. And Craig was laid off from his job. Lisa’s friends said that she was afraid of her husband. And she was attending counseling sessions at a center for battered women. Before Lisa had disappeared, she and her husband had been married for 14 years. Reportedly, the police were called to their home in 2006. This was because of a verbal dispute between Lisa and Craig. But apparently no physical violence had occurred. And no arrests were made. In the 1990’s, Craig had been convicted of felony weapons charges. But he reportedly wasn’t convicted of any violent offenses.

Person of Interest

Investigators searched the Stebic home multiple times, in the days following Lisa’s disappearance. And they also confiscated the couple’s two vehicles and a tarp found inside one of them. Some media outlets reported that Lisa’s blood was found on the tarp. But police haven’t confirmed this. Craig was officially named as a person of interest in her case, two months after her disappearance. Authorities stated that he refused to cooperate with the investigation or allow his children to be interviewed. The day after he was named as a person of interest, Craig asked the court to dismiss his divorce petition against Lisa.

Facing Charges in An Unrelated Case

Police stated that they don’t believe that Lisa Stebic left of her own accord. But they also don’t believe that he had an accident or was forcible abducted. But they do believe that she came to harm. In November 2007, a grand jury convened to investigate Lisa’s disappearance. Lisa’s two children were 10 and 12 years old at the time of her disappearance. They were called to testify. Reportedly, no charges have been filed against Craig in relation at the time of his wife’s disappearance. But in November 2009, he was arrested for assault in an unrelated case. Allegedly, he threatened a neighbor. Reportedly, it’s unclear if he will actually face charges in connection with this case.

Lisa Stebic graduated from Libertyville High School. And she attended Southern Illinois University before transferring to Kendall College. This is where she obtained a degree in hotel and restaurant management. She was employed as a food assistant at Lincoln Elementary School at the time of her disappearance. It is uncharacteristic of her to abandon her children or to leave without warning, and she did not have any health issues or mental
problems at the time she went missing. Foul play is suspected in her case.

Lisa Michelle Stebic has been missing for ten years. According to a recent article headline that is out, her loved ones are losing hope that her missing case will ever be solved. And hope is what is needed to carry on. It is unfortunate that there is no way to show support to her family directly. There seem to be no websites or Facebook pages set up for Lisa Michelle Stebic. But we can best support them by continuing to share Lisa’s posters and story until the person (s) with tips and leads can be reached. Someone (s) knows something! Lisa Michelle Stebic is in a physical location at the moment. IT remains a mystery. Tips and leads alone can solve it.
