Find Missing Katherine Dolan Heckel! She has been missing since July 15, 1991. She is missing from Lock Haven, Pennsylvania. A Violent Criminal Apprehension Program (ViCAP) Alert has been issued for Jatherine Dolan Heckel. ViCAP is an FBI program which investigates some cases which are classified as violent criminal investigations. In these cases, foul play is suspected. Katherine is classified as an endangered missing person. At the time of her disappearance, Katherine was 40 years old. Her current age is 66 to 67 years old. When last seen, Katherine was wearing a sleeveless maroon and a blue and yellow dark print dress.

Katherine Dolan Heckel wore flat shoes (possibly tan in color, size between 8 1/2 and 10). She wore a gold chain necklace and quarter-carat diamond earrings. She wore a wedding ring with three small diamonds and a gold and diamond engagement ring with a one-carat diamond. Katherine Heckel is a Caucasian female. Katherine is described as 5’5 tall and 140 pounds. She has dark brown, curly hair. Heckel’s hair was shoulder-length at the time of her
disappearance. She wears contact lenses and her ears are pierced. Her nickname is Kathy. Heckel’s blood is type A positive. One of her teeth has been extracted and she has fillings on twelve others. She has a surgical scar on the right side of her abdomen from where her right kidney was removed.

It was July 15, 991, in Lock Haven, Pennsylvania. Katherine Dolan Heckel was last seen leaving her office at the International Paper Company. She was employed with them as a management secretary. Heckel called her two children just before lunch that day. And she said that she was going to run some errands. And she would eat her lunch. At the start of her lunch break she drove her car out of the parking lot and never returned. The next day, her father reported her as missing. At the time of her disappearance, Heckel wasn’t carrying any money or personal belongings. And her financial accounts have been used since she went missing. On July 17, two days after she vanished, her silver 1990 Ford Festiva was found near the Lock Haven Hospital at 10:30 P.M.

Katherine Heckel’s car was parked in third gear with the emergency brake applied. And the keys were missing. There was no evidence of her whereabouts at
the scene.

Katherine’s Heckel’s husband of eighteen years was in the National Guard. And he away from home on a two-week training exercise when his wife vanished. So he was quickly ruled out as a suspect in her case. Authorities focused on another individual, Loyd Groves, one of Heckel’s co-workers. Shortly before her disappearance, Heckel told a friend she was having an affair with Groves, who was also married. Heckel allegedly said she wanted to end their relationship but Groves did not. She said that she was anxious and fearful of him. And she accused him of stalking her and sending her lewd messages. On the morning of the day she disappeared, she had a noisy fight with Groves. And he was seen chasing her through the paper plant.

Lloyd Groves’s van was seen leaving the International Paper Company at around the same time as Katherine Heckel’s car. He claimed not remembering where
he was at the time of her disappearance. And allegedly attempted to manufacture an alibi. He seemed anxious and paranoid in the aftermath of Heckel’s
disappearance. Lloyd repeatedly asked people whether the police thought he was involved. He asked a friend to take care of his wife and children in case
he got arrested. Type A human blood traces were found on Groves’s van’s upholstery, the middle seat and the interior light. DNA testing later determined the blood was Heckel’s.

In Grove’s desk, police also found a box of .25 caliber ammunition, a hunting knife, and a partially used roll of duct tape. They found two duffel bags in the van. Police found a .25 caliber pistol inside the power plant. In January 2015, he was charged with her murder. He is awaiting trial. On July 15, 1998,
Katherine Heckel was declared legally dead. This was seventh annual missing date. Katherine Dolan Heckel is described as a reliable employee and a devoted parent who would not have abandoned her son and daughter. Her children are now grown and live outside the area.

Katherine Dolan Heckel is has been missing for over 26 years old. Her loved ones have declared her legally dead. This does not mean that her case is over. It does not mean that her loved ones don’t need answers. They do. It is unknown if the man awaiting trail for her murder has had his day in court. It is unknown if he has been convicted. This family have no answers. And as Katherine is presumed to be deceased, it is unlikely is they will ever see or heard from her again in this life. All they have left of her are memories. Her children are adults now and want answers. Some relatives may have had to die not knowing what happened to Katherine. Someone does know something that can help solve this mystery.
