Find Missing Delecia Waddy! The Hanover Sheriff’s Office is seeking our help to locate Delecia Waddy. According to Investigator Christopher Stem, Waddy was last seen around 11:30 A.M. Waddy, 24 years old, was last seen on Thursday, March 9. She is missing from Caroline County, Virginia. Reportedly, she was last seen at the King’s Dominion campground. It is located at 10001 Kings Dominion Boulevard. In Boswell, Virginia. Waddy’s vehicle was found abandoned. It is described as a silver Ford Explorer. Waddy is known to hang out at the City of Richmond and the east end of Henrico County.

Delecia Waddy is an African-American female. She is described as 5’1″ and 145 pounds. Waddy has brown eyes and black hair. She has multiple tattoos. They are most visible around one wrist. They are also visible on one side of her chest. Waddy was last seen wearing a black and white shirt and dark colored pants. She was also wearing a multi-colored baseball cap. Waddy was last seen walking on U.S. 30 east towards Caroline County from the Kings Dominion Camp Ground. The Hanover County Sheriff’s Office is working jointly with the Caroline County Sheriff’s Office and the Virginia State Police. They are also working with Kings Dominion Law Enforcement and Hanover County Fire-EMS in the search efforts.

Delecia’s family have set up a Facebook page for her. In April 2017, this status update was made.

We’re coming up on 4 weeks since Delecia was last seen leaving her (fully functional) vehicle behind at a campground. A short ways away, her charged and functional cell phone, wallet, and personal items were found. The last eye witness believed she was barefoot and disoriented. Delecia posted on social media constistently, daily, even hourly for months before her disappearance. In the weeks since, she has not accessed funded bank accounts, called friends or family, or logged in to any of her social media. This is not a premeditated act of a woman trying to start a new life, or escape a bad situation. Please. Share her poster. Share her story. Force the media and public to say Delecia’s name. We cannot just wait for her to be carried into an ER, or worse. Be proactive and help us bring Delecia home.

Delecia Waddy’s case shows that missing people’s searches are not equal. After the initial days of her disappearance, she received local attention and publicity. But after the latest unconfirmed sighting of her, there have been zero updates or new developments. Hence, no publicity. And there have been no more sightings, according to her family. Police seem to believe that her disappearance is voluntary, but her family do not agree. The passage of time makes it more and more likely that something happened to Waddy. Delecia’s case has not been entered into NamUs. Ii couldn’t be found in searches. Her case seems to have grown cold after eleven months. More tips and leads need to be generated to keep her story alive.
