More about Her Disappearace

A search began. It was extensive. Authorities came up empty-handed. They could find no clue as to where Lindsey could be. It seemed that she had just fallen off the face of the earth. The person who last saw Lindsey was a neighbor who drove past her on Maple Street. That is between Fifth and Sixth Streets. It is about halfway between between Lindsey’s home and her friend’s home.

Before she was last seen, Lindsey had been arguing with her brother. Reports indicate that she was upset because her parents had recently divorced. But her family members state that Lindsey has no history of running away behaviors. Nor do they believe that her disappearance was voluntary. For she had left her money, clothes, and cell phone behind. Reports tell us that she was afraid of the dark. And she didn’t like being alone at night.

The Investigation

An investigation gave police little to go on. They had checked Lindsey’s computer. But they found little that interested them. There was nothing that gave investigators clues of anyone who could be involved in her going missing. Lindsey’s dad hadn’t seen her for a year before she vanished. They did stay in touch by phone. Lindsey’s father is a member of the Tennessee National Guard. He was scheto Iraq in July 2009. He was due to be deployed to Iraq in July 2009. Both Lindsey’s mom and the father of the friend she was visiting that night, took polygraph tests. They had volunteered for these tests and had passed them. Days passed. There was no sign of the missing girl. Police finally concluded that she had been kidnapped.

A Person of Interest?

One person has been named a person of interest in Lindsey’s missing case. His name is Timothy Hartman. He’s the owner of Hartman’s Jewelry and Repair on Fourth Street. It is in McCleary. He has told investigators that he had not been in McCleary on the day Lindsey went missing. However, investigators had found video surveillance. The footage captured Hartman buying something at Mike’s Market. It is located in McCleary. And he was doing so at 9:15. The same time Lindsey went missing!

Two unidentified people were also in the store. At that time. On that day. Authorities would like to identify those two unknown individuals. They believe this individuals may have critical information on Baum’s case. Investigators had searched Hartman’s store and his home. The search took place in October 2011. Authorities had removed some items. Hartman told police that he had made an honest mistake. He said that he couldn’t remember where he had been on that night Lindsey vanished. He is innocent in Lindsey’s disappearance, he declares.
