Her current age is 43 years old. Brenda Crowley is a Caucasian female. She is described as 5’4″ to 5’6″ at the time of her disappearance. At that time, she weighed an estimated 110 to 130 pounds.

Brenda Cecilia Crowley lived with her parents and siblings. They lived at various addresses in Staten Island, New York. The family stated that Brenda and reach of her siblings have run away from home at different times. However, each of Brenda’s seven siblings eventually returned home. Brenda never did. Reportedly, she used to hang Tompkinsville area. She used to also hang out at Stapleton and Marinera’s Harbor. Since approximately 1979, Brenda has never been seen or heard from. Other agencies give the estimated time as February to March 1980.

More Timeline Inconsistencies

It seems impossible to pinpoint any timeline in Brenda’s case. According to other agencies, Brenda lived with her mother in the 100 block of Harbor Road. This was located in Mariners Harbor in New York City borough of Staten Island in 1980. And she was last seen in February to March of that year. Reportedly, her family believed that Brenda’s mother had reported her missing to authorities. But she did not do this. Reportedly, a report was filed with the New York Police Department’s Missing persons Squad. Reportedly, the report was filed in Manhattan in 2007. Other reports state that Brenda’s sister reported her as missing in 1994.

Reportedly, in 1981, a year after Brenda disappeared, her mother was strangled to death. A male acquaintance was responsible for this crime. And sometime in 1980, their home burned down. Brenda’s sister stated that their mother and stepfather were both alcoholics. And in 1980, their father was a prison inmate. Brenda had attended special education classes at Curtis High School. In February 1980, she stopped attending and was expelled as AWOL (absent with notice). Currently and reportedly, there is an outstanding PINS (person in need of supervision) warrant for Brenda in family court.

A Lead?

It is believed that after her disappearance, Brenda may have been placed in foster care. Or she may have been placed in a group home. This would be because of alleged abuse. However, in 2008, one of her family members approached police. The family member stated that Brenda had been murdered and that her body was buried in the backyard of a house. Reportedly, the house was located in East Islip on Long Island. Investigators dug up the backyard. But all they found were dog bones.

Brenda Crowley was born in the New York City borough of Brooklyn.

This is a heartbreaking case. Who failed this teen girl? Her parents? The system? Both? Her mother never reported her missing because she believed that Brenda was “just a runaway”? It took a a sibling to finally report Brenda missing 14 years after her disappearance? Talk about bringing Brenda home to this situation sounds like empty, hollow mockery. Available information states that Brenda may have been placed in foster care after her disappearance. But if this was the case, the foster family are unidentified.

In a troubled family situation, all the children run away. One, Brenda, remains missing today. The mother was murdered herself. Surely there are people who love and miss Brenda Crowley and want her home. What about extended family members? Surely they are out there. And it has been 27 long years since they have seen or heard from her. Christmas is coming up in two months. They have endured 26 Christmases without Brenda; will they face another Christmas without her? Someone (s) knows something!
