Danielle’s cousin made a post that reveals the grace and focus of her family.
While the search for My cousins Danielle’s remains at Hines Park is underway, I want to take a moment to get something that has been bothering me off my chest.
Throughout these 8 hard and painful months, there has been a lot of anger, a lot of pain, and a lot of rage festering in the hearts of not only her family and friends, but others who are familiar with the case. Time and time again I have read and heard comments from people threatening to torture the person of interest, bring back the death penalty to Michigan, or even take him out themselves.
I understand the emotions these people are experiencing. I have felt them too. And while I must admit that at times my mind wanders to a place where I too have these thoughts; I know in my heart of hearts that these are wrong. That torturing and killing, no matter how just you may think it is, will make you no better of a person than the one that took Danielle from us. And I also know that Danielle would never have it in her heart to wish anything like that upon anyone. Not even her attacker.
You can be angry; you can be scared; you can be fearful; you can be hurt. But do not let the actions of one man compromise your own morality.
